The ASC Region 8 2024 Student Competition will be held in Dublin from 6-8 November 2024, inviting teams from all regions to compete in Design & Build, Project Management, and Construction Management & Estimating tracks. Sponsored by Procore, Flynn, Monami Construction Ltd, and Walls, and hosted by the TU Dublin School of Surveying and Construction Innovation, the event kicks off with an evening reception on the 6th, followed by a “locked down” competition day on the 7th with report and presentation submissions, and concludes with student presentations and an awards ceremony on the 8th. We are thrilled to announce that ASC Region 8 academics have garnered significant recognition at the 60th Annual ASC International Conference 2024 in Auburn. Dr. Sonya Meekel from TU Dublin, newly appointed as Region 8 Director, received both the Regional and International Outstanding Educator Awards. Dr. Onur Dursun and Dr. Mohammed Qabshoqa from Liverpool John Moores University won the Best Proceedings Award for their research on virtual reality in built environment education. Additionally, Dr. John J. Posillico secured second place in the same category for his study on professional development skills in construction management.
